Okay, let me paint you a scenario but instead of using a paintbrush and some paint, we are going to paint the picture with a vape and some clouds. Now that you have that picture in your mind let us get to the next part. 

So, you and your family decide to go on vacation and decide on Asia. You want to explore the largest and most populous continent and the many interesting animals like the giant panda, Asian elephant, or the king cobra. At this point, you have completely forgotten about the vaping part. 

Jip, you will have to look at the vaping laws of Asia before you go anywhere or let me rather say vape anywhere. The majority of vapes and e-cigarettes are manufactured in Asia. But some countries have strict laws when it comes to the usage and sale of them. Countries such as Cambodia, India (some parts), the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Vaping in Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia

So, if you are arrested possessing vape pens or even related gear you can be imprisoned for 10 years or be made to pay a fine of $945. If I were you, I would not take the chance and rather leave my vape pen at home.

It is portrayed that Thai laws have many grey areas and that tourists can buy and use their vapes in private but not in public. What is prohibited is the sale of all vape-related gear.

Play it safe and rather leave your vape gear at home if you decide on traveling to Thailand. There will be some stores that are selling vape gear in tourist traps, but this does not mean it makes vaping legal in this country.

Malaysia has a public ban on vaping, but you can still purchase vapes around the country. However, you are not allowed to vape in public places such as parks or gasoline stations there is an outright ban on the sale and use of vapes in the following states: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri, Terengganu, and Sembilan. 

E-Cigarettes in Singapore, Hong Kong, and China

You may be aware that Singapore is well known for its strict laws on Tobacco. It has banned the sale and the use of vapes for any kind of use.

What happens if you are caught?

You can be made to pay a hair-rising fine of $2000. Do not think that you will be able to order vapes from outside Singapore and have it shipped to a residence inside Singapore because it is not going to happen.

That would be considered postal importation of illegal contraband, and this statue has been in place since August 1, 2016. 

What about Hong Kong?

The Hong Kong government announced that it wants to enforce a blanket ban on the following: importation, sale, and the use of all the vape devices even the heat nor burn devices that need Tobacco for them to work.

China, which is the site of many manufacturing firms that produce vape gear, is also currently mulling stricter regulations for people to personally use the vaping devices.

Last May, the government of China has already published a regulation regarding the standards of manufacturing e-cigarettes and vape pens. 

So, before you even think about going on holiday and vaping away first do your research on the vaping laws of that country you do not want to get arrested and be put in jail for years or get a crazy fine.
